Teams
Teams
Create a team, invite members, share credits, and track usage across your organization
Overview
NOTE
The teams functionality is in testing and may not be avaiable to all users.
Teams let you share a pool of conversion credits with colleagues. Instead of everyone buying their own credits, a team owner purchases credits once and team members draw from the shared pool.
Key concepts:
- Team owner — the person who creates the team. Full control over the team, its members, and its credits.
- Team admin — can add and remove members, set quotas, and view usage reports. Only the owner can promote someone to admin.
- Team member — can convert documents using the team's credit pool, subject to their quota.
A person can belong to multiple teams and still have their own personal credits.
Creating a team
- Open the Teams page from the sidebar
- Enter a name for your team
- Click Create Team
You are automatically the owner of any team you create.
Inviting members
- Go to your team dashboard (click the team name on the Teams page)
- In the Members tab, enter the person's email address
- Optionally set their role (Member or Admin) and credit quota
- Click Add
If the person already has an account, they are added immediately. If not, they receive an email invitation. When they sign up, they are automatically added to the team.

Credit quotas
Each member has a credit quota — the total number of credits they can use from the team pool. This is a lifetime cap, not a monthly limit.
- When a member's usage reaches their quota, they cannot use team credits until an admin raises the quota.
- The owner has no quota limit.
- Admins can increase or decrease a member's quota at any time. Lowering the quota does not claw back credits already used.
Example: You set a member's quota to 200. After they convert 200 pages, they are blocked from using team credits until you raise their quota to, say, 300.
Buying credits for the team
- Go to your team dashboard
- Click the Credits tab
- Click Buy Credits for Team
- Select a credit package and complete checkout
Credits are deposited directly into the team pool — not your personal balance.
Choosing which credits to use
If you have both personal credits and belong to a team with credits, you can choose which to use:
- Go to Settings (click your avatar in the top right)
- Under Credit Source, select either Personal credits or the name of a team
- Your choice is saved automatically
All conversions will use whichever source you selected. If the selected source runs out, the conversion will fail with a clear message — it will not silently fall back to another source.
You can change this setting at any time.
Viewing usage reports
Team owners and admins can see how credits are being used:
- Go to your team dashboard
- Click the Usage tab
The report shows each member's quota, credits used, credits remaining, and percentage used. You can also export the report as CSV for offline analysis.
Transferring credits
The team owner can transfer credits from the team pool to their personal balance:
- Go to the Credits tab on the team dashboard
- Enter the amount to transfer
- Click Transfer to Personal
This is useful if you need to shut down a team and recover unused credits.
Deleting a team
Only the owner can delete a team, and only if the credit pool is empty.
- Transfer or use all remaining credits
- Go to the Settings tab on the team dashboard
- Click Delete Team
All members are removed and the team is permanently deleted. Members keep their personal credits — only team membership is removed.
Transferring ownership
Team ownership cannot be transferred through the app. If you need to change the owner, please contact support.
Frequently asked questions
Can I be on multiple teams?
Yes. You can belong to any number of teams. Use the Credit Source setting to choose which team's credits to use for conversions.
What happens if I remove a member who has used credits?
Their usage history is preserved in the team's transaction log. The credits they used are not returned to the pool.
Can a team admin remove another admin?
No. Only the team owner can remove or demote admins.
What if my team runs out of credits?
Members will see an "Insufficient credits" error when trying to convert. An owner or admin needs to purchase more credits for the team.
Do unused quota credits expire?
No. Quotas are lifetime caps, not time-based. Unused quota simply means the member has room to convert more.
